Incredible New AT009 Video Card Launched by FIC

Taipei 18 July 2002- First International Computer, Inc. (FIC) is pleased to announce the launch of the new AT009 video card featuring the very latest ATI® graphics technology. The new VGA card is a high performance, mainstream solution that will retail at a very competitive price.

Gene Sheu, President of the FIC Networking Information Group, this morning commented, “VGA cards are a new market area for FIC and we’re extremely pleased with our achievements so far. Our ongoing relationship with ATI® is working very well and there should be plenty more new products featuring ATI® technology in the near future. We’re very pleased with this new product and we are expecting a lot of demand for it.”

FIC announced a partnership with graphics giant ATI® in March 2002 and now has access to the full range of ATI® technology. Customers can expect to see more ATI® powered products from FIC in the coming months as the relationship between the 2 companies develops. FIC has a history of forming strong, successful relationships with other industry giants and the alliance with ATI looks to be good news both for customers and for the technology market in general.

ATI are also very confident about the new product. "The RADEON 9000 chip allows FIC to bring a feature-rich and powerful product to market at an unbelievable price.” said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. “We are pleased to be working with FIC to make great graphics products."

At the heart of the new AT009 VGA card from FIC is the ATI® Radeon™ 9000 Pro, the most sophisticated rendering engine ever produced for the mainstream market. Already 3D bench mark tests are showing very promising results.

The AT009 video card benefits from all the ATI® advanced 3D features including Truform™, Smartshader™, Pixel Tapestry™ II, Hyper Z™ II and Video Immersion™ II. Astounding performance levels are achieved with 275MHz/275MHz core/memory clock frequency and 400MHz RAMDAC. The AT009 comes with a full 64MB of on-board memory and is capable of a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 x 75Hz. There are on-board TV-out and DVI interfaces and the AT009 is completely AGP 4X/2X compatible.

The AT009 is fully compatible with all the popular Microsoft® Windows® operating systems and comes with CyberLink® Power DVD 4 software for crystal clear DVD playback in the comfort of your own home.

Why is that incredible? Everyone and their brother will be making cards based on the RADEON 9000 chip....

Am I missing something here? I mean, if they had said, "The card scored a 20,000 in 3DMark 2001SE, I would agree, that it is incredible.

Heck, 12,000 would be an incredible score for ATI, ya know? That would mean ATI is only 10 months behind nVidia, but its still not out yet, so that timer is ticking.
