  • Help! Data loss!

A friend of mine initially had 2 FAT32 partitions on his HD one being approx 17GB and the other being 2GB in size. When he decided to upgrade to another OS, he recreated partitions for one to be 8GB and the other to be approx 11GB forgetting that the 2GB partition had some important info. He formatted the 8GB partition to be NTFS and installed XP on it. The other partition is still raw... He wants to recover data from his old 2GB partition (hopefully it's sitting in his 12GB partition). Is there any software that can do that? Or is there anything that can be done to salvage back the lost data?

    Thanks for your time guys.

Problem solved. Used Runtime Software's GetDataBack for FAT and found the old boot sector. Great program!

    Anyway thanks fellas...

      Hello,
I suppose using Data Recovery tool. It is imho the best one among it's family.
Easy to use and powerful. It actually never failed me before. Recommended!
