  • Halo - D3D??

Anyone have a clue how to solve this..

It shows up when I try to start the game.

Diag testing came up clean and I'm using the latest dets.

Firstly there is a 1.02 Patch out for Halo from here. Read the performance FAQ that's on that site too.

Next look under Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshoot - the slider must be all the way to the right.

Finally look in your BIOS - your AGP Aperture must be 64MB or above otherwise AGP Texturing is disabled.

One of the above should resolve the problem. Perhaps even a full uninstall/reinstall of the game will be necessary as well as a reinstall of the latest Detonators.

I had the same exact problem and it took me HOURS to find the fix.

It's because Halo doesn't like the Refresh Rate Fix. I have to set RefreshForce back to default settings (disable it basically) and then it runs fine. You can adjust the refresh rate from within halo to whatever you want so you dont have to worry about a 60hz nightmare. After you're done, just re-enable the fix.

It was the refreshlock that screwed up for me. Working fine ever since I fixed it. :)
