i have a external 60 gb hd (don't ask :D) well anyways my hd won't be reconized threw usb 2.0 and i won't know why.. i have the drivers installed and it won't make the noise that xp makes when it is plugged in...any help please post here

What kind of external HDD is it? Does it work on other machines?

it is the buslink 60 gb yellow hd external usb 2.0, it worked on my older computer and worked on this computer before i reformated on the same os...

are you sure you didn't forget to install your usb drivers? take a look in Device Manager and see if you've got any warnings

there is 4, ehternet controller nvidia audio devices, sm bus controller, and unversial sub bus controller, it says for usb2 i don't need any ones..
