With my leadtek 5900 lx version, i oced from 400 to 500 and 700 to 800 with stock cooling. But i think i had to lower the core to around 480 because of freezing issues. I had a ti4400 and upgrade to a 5900 lx(value version) for 250 usd. I only improved my score by a 1000 in 3dmark01, so i am not quite sure if it is worth it. I am going to return it and get a 9800 pro this weekend.
Oh yea, 180..what money is that in? Because it seems cheap.

I am not sure how to explain it. But for each settting, 2d (300 and 700 clocked) and 3d(400, and 700 clocked), i overclocked the 2d to 400 and 800 and for 3d, 480 and 850.
I scored around 14899 on 3dmark01 and for 3dmark03 i scored 4800 or around there.
And for the noise thing, i don't notice a difference, since i always have my head phones on, but when my computer is off..the room feels..CREEPY because it is to quiet.
I believe all fx5900 come with 2d and 3d settings, overclock both.
It is better than your ti4200 so just keep the card unless you find a better deal.
