    Er..Do tell! Which is better?!

lol..i've heard fast write actually sucks, and that turning it on makes ur system more unstable with absolutely NO performance boost, but if there is another opinion out there I'd love to hear it!

    Speak up:bounce2:

Fast write is actaully an advantage, if your mobo and video card supports it, it provides 1-5% performance boost. The downside of Fast write, is that it can cause instability issues, so its prefered off.

No it's a video card settin' in the mobo BIOS but it can usually cause stability probs.

I've used FastWrites over here since day one without a problem

I did say "usually", not "always", but some ppl (me included) can be prob free with it enabled but others have to disable it because it causes stability probs. :blah:

I read somewhere that theres more Fast-Write problems on ATi cards than nVidia, is that true?

No and quite frankly there's less difference between it bein' on or off than the difference between 4x AGP and 8x AGP which isn't much either.

Meh, I use Fast Writes, and I don't see any problems with them. Maybe I'll benchmark with them off and see if there's a huge difference.

Fastwrites are fine on NVidia cards, but they do absolutely nothing for performance on ATI cards and only cause stability problems. On with nvidia, off with ati :)

I already did that, around 400-600 points boost in 3dmark01 with it on. Right now its off. I am going to turn it on later though, seeing there is no problem with it on.
