  • Win2k and WinXP pro

This is just a question I wanted to ask because I noticed when I was going to purchase Windows XP Professional that Windows 2000 Professional was priced higher. I was curious why that was. My guess was that it has to do with the Windows 2000 Server software and its appeal to businesses.

were they both retail? or was one an upgrade?
Personally I dont mind playing with either OS. they both are nice and stable. XPpro is a little more mainstream or userfriendly as w2K has more of a geek feel to it, and it has less wizards to baby step you through everything. And no ugly/freaky/silly theme to turn off

      I use both
I have dual boot pc win 2000pro & XP pro both are great
Both around sane price on line
I seem to have more control with 2000 ( around 30 second boot)
XP boots much Faster (about 8 seconds)
My wifes pc has XP home is great also ( boots 8 seconds, also seen upgrade and full edition for $80.00 on line)
      I just prefer 2000
      wife and kids XP
I love XP too! (Too bad there is so many critical updates to install)

Both 2000 and XP are great worth the money I used to use 98 it would freeze up all the time

I've seen 2000 and XP on line for $140.00 full version and less dont pay more than that
I think XP out now with service pack 2 on cd Buy That
      :flames:
