Score decreased!

Recently i built a comp and the first thing i did was i benchmarked and got a nice score of 5616 then it decreased to 3812 in about a month...what the hell is happening here?

Abit VI7 mobo
P4 2.80c FSB 800
ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 128mb (not OCed) 378 MHz / 338 MHz
80gb Seagate 7200rpm 8mb cache
Microsoft Windows XP Pro

how good have you been keeping up on system maintance? did you ever both to tweak the system?

Ive maintained it pretty well and nver tweaked..the only thing i did was switch the two case fans on the bottom to blow air in and added another fan on the back to blow air out. I've also noticed some wierd things happening to the vid card. right in the middle of a game it would freeze--then the monitor would go into suspend as if the computer was off but i would still hear the music in the game. I cleaned up all the background processes that would start up when when windows did with msconfig. and the score didnot improve
Please help this is really bugging me

I would suspect you ran it with different settings each time, such as high performance originally, and high quality now.

Or you have AA or AF on.
