  • Anybody done anything with the P4 2.8A processor yet?

Thinking of picking up a new processor, and was looking at the 2.4A, as I've seen people having lots of success overclocking it. The 2.8A is $45CAD more, and I was wondering what kind of results people may have had overclocking it...

Also, I have an MSI GeForceFX 5700 Ultra, and was thinking of tweaking that up a bit as well...

The overall goal here is to improve gaming performance. I get absolutely deplorable framerates in first-person-shooter style games (BF1942/VN, WoW, etc). I'm lucky if I see higher than 25FPS.

    System specs: MSI 655LS motherboard
    P4 2Ghz
    1gb DDR400 dual-channel ram
    MSI GFFX 5900 Ultra 256mb
    40gb 7200rpm 8mb UATA
    80gb 7200rpm 8mb UATA
    200gb 7200rpm 8mb SATA

Thanks. Any help would be appreciated

Ah the Prescott, the term 2.4a generally brings to mind the 2.4Ghz Northwood with a 400mhz FSB, Sorry!
