    ive modded my barton 2800, unlocking the third from left level 5 cache using liquid silver, also got cpu msr. when my chip posts>> 12.5 x 200 it runns at 2.5, and is shows it as a unknown cpu type which means basicly its unlocked, i still cant change the multiplyers in the bios or on the fly for some reason, im using a leadtek pro 2 mobo, got some info on WPCREDIT but i dont know how to use it, is this my problem! y cant i get a 11x multiplyer or in fact any other multiplyer than 12.5 its breaking my skull please help [email protected] :(

    You can't unlock them. You simply can't. It says unknown CPU type because there is not supposed to be a CPU made by AMD at 2.5Ghz

      You can unlock them. However, it turns them into MPs. Many single-processor boards, particularly ones with the Nforce 2 chipset, simply won't recognize them.

      So basically, unlocking them is a bad idea.

      I had found a better article a while back, but I lost it and don't feel like spending time on Google. That article should explain it.
