  • Why Do I need GigaLan?

What is the main application for GigaLan? Why does the home user/gamer need it?

  • #2
itll be faster for file transfers (most noticable for large files)
it also wont suffer as much slowdown if you have alot of computers accessing the network at the same time

I use it to transfer files between my PC's at rates that 100mbps can't come close to.

        Question?

        Wayout,

At what sort of speeds are you transfering data over your GB network?

Exactly. You don't need it. If you have all of you computers setup on a GigaLAN setup then it's quite useful. File transfers can go from five to ten times as fast (in theory ten) as on 100mbps, so it speeds things up quite a bit.

Other than network transfers, it's pretty much useless. Not quite useless, but enough so that it's not worth looking into if you don't have a LAN.
