task manager processes definition?

  • task manager processes definition?

    I noticed hd activity at idle and looked in task manager and found "NOPBD.EXE" running (cpu usage up and down hi 23%). how do i find out what these processes are?

    hmm... not sure if you made a typo there or not.... if you meant NOPDB.exe then that process is the following:
    nopdb - nopdb.exe - Process Information

    Process File: nopdb or nopdb.exe
    Process Name: Nopdb


    Description:
    nopdb.exe belongs to Norton Speed Disk. It is used to schedule when the Speed Disk application should run. This program is should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

      yep typo,thx, is there a glossary of all the acronyms/abreviations? or do we newbes just have to ask someone all the time?

        there are many places you can look up process names, you can even google it usually, i prefer to use this one though, here
