Re: What do you guys think about my setup

Looks good. The X800 Pro is pretty low on power consumption so even a 420W Thermaltake for a good price will probably be enough. You might change the RAM, though. For starters, this is essentially the same product, only much cheaper. Also, you'll certainly want to get two of them so you can have a GB of dual channel (which does mean a very minor, yet significant performance increase on A64s). You certainly want a GB with this system. If you had to drop the quality of the RAM to afford more, it would be worth it.

Also, is the video card really what you want? For starters, the GeForce 6800 GT is probably better for you, depending on what games you play. Also, do you actaully need the features of that card? You can get an X800 Pro for much less, but it won't have the crazy package and AIW-type features. I say, if you don't need that stuff, go with and eVGA GeForce 6800 GT. Likely better performance for much less money.

If you don't need 120GB of HDD space, go with an a 80GB SATA drive.

That should do it. This will be a great machine. It should overclock okay, too.

um, i have another concern, about the CORSAIR XMS 512MB PC-3200-Retail for $135 seems very expensive but if its worth the money, i would not mind getting it. If not, can you recommend me another RAM?

                  thanks!

Get some Kingmax PC3500. It's about $7 more than the Kingmax PC3200, so it's worth it. It will give you a fair amount of overclocking room.

okay but i dont think my mobo supports DDR433's, like the PC3500 your talking about. correct me if i am wrong.

or do you reccomend another mobo thats better than the one above i am trying to get?

                        thanks!

                          You're wrong. It does. Well...
No motherboard can technically claim to support RAM running higher than 200MHz, but any almost motherboard with overclocking features will.

I can't say that I'd recommend a different board, either.

this is a dumb question. but okay so, if my mobo can support DDR400's that mean i have to stay in the 400's spec? or even higher? like in the 500's? well, in that case, PC3500 it is. or should you recommend higher?

                            thanks yawgmoth

Most mainboards these days will state support for PC3200 as that is the last ratified standard but that doesn't mean that you can't use higher spec'd memory though this question has already been answered for you but if I was using that mainboard and I was going to overclock then PC3500 would be the minimum I would use (you can use up to PC4400 if you realy wanted to though).
