  • PC won't read "N" drive

My OS is "ME". Both the M and N drives worked great until a month or so ago. M still works perfectly.

When I put a disk into the "N" drive and then try to open it I get the message "Please insert a disk into drive "N". When I right click my mouse I get the normal options, one of which is to eject the disk. When I hit that the disk ejects as it should.

Bottom line........ my N drive doesn't know when there is a disk in.

Ideas??? Any help will be honestly appreciated.

Sounds like "N" might have died on ya!

Make sure your IDE cables are good and snug on both ends, if they are, then replace the cable.

If that doesn't get it, sounds like you may have to get another drive
