wirless networking

i know this is a common topic but i am really stuck. i have posted in another forum and got some good links to follow but nothing works.
i am new here so please be patient.

prob: can see my laptop in network workgroup but i cant gain access. and when i try to view work groups on my laptop i get ms home not accessible, see admin for permission network path not found.

i did: set up through wireless wizard. did home network wizard i even put the info on s/d card the way it says and still same. all file share options are checked.

i can surf but no file or printer share.

i have. desktop
xp box with sp2<added after prob started to see if it would help>
lynksys wireless g router
cable modem

laptop
same as above but 802.11b/g

check to see if your IP's are on the same subnet.


Veify that the "Sharing and Security" options are not password restricted or in any other way restricted.
