COMPLETE HD erase?

Hello

What I have is a seagate 80gig internal HD. It has been in use, so it is pretty jammed with data. Not only do I wish to format it, but I also wish to completely erase any data left on it, to conserve space for my next use for it, my xbox.

Can anyone give me some good freeware full erase programs? And maybe a helpful hint or two?

If you're using it on the xbox (which I'm assuming is modded), then when you plug it in you'll have to install a new dashboard, which should automatically format the drive to the xbox format.
