  • Speaker to soundcard - how can I do this?

    Hi

I have 5 general sourround speakers from my cd player, previously I powered the speakers through the speakers and plugged the cd player into my sound card.

Since then the CD player has blown up and I'm left with 5 speakers with nothing to plug them into.

All I want is to plug them "directly" into my sound card. What would be the most price affective solution for this?

I know this may be a bit of a long shop, but is there some form of adaptor that the speakers can plug into which converts to RCA or somethign along those lines?

The speakers are just basic which run on red and black wires.

Your help would be greatly apprectiated.

You'll need an amplifier of some description. You can't plug the speakers straight into the sound card, nor can you get a convertor that will work very well.

it was more wishful thinking, i thought you'd need something to at least power the speakers, i was hoping there would be something esle to power them that was a cheaper alternative to an amp.

An amp it is i guess..
