  • Ripping mp3s

When ripping an audio cd to create mp3s does it make a difference if you use creative mediasource or WMP (assuming of course bitrate is same). And does anyone here notice any benefit of ripping at more than 192 kbps. I am unable to notice any quality improvement above 192.

It doesn't make a big difference what program you use(some have linitations on the quality or speed of the ripping) but both those programs are fine. As for the bitrate, I can hear a difference between 192 and 256, but it is very hard to and usualy only noticable on songs which have either low bass or high trebel they are usualy less scratchy at those levels, I rip everything at 256 but when I download music onto my mp3 player I usualy use 128 to save space.
