  • New Computer Won't Turn on, PSU working.

    Hello!

I just received a new psu after the hurricane blew out my other.

I had a repair shop make sure all components were in working order, and they got it to boot on they're equipment.

I got the 520w PSU today, hooked it up barebone to the mobo and manually shorted the ps jumper, CPU fan spins, all seems good.

Happy to see her moving again, I shut it all down, and go to work on my case.

I took about 2 hours to completely install everything nicely, including case lights, twist-tie'ing cables, windexing case windows .

All is good, but when I try to turn on, no go. When the PSU is turned off via it's power switch it makes the power draining sound, that whine.

I tried manually shorting the switch again, but it still won't turn on, does this sound like a short? When I try to turn on it's nothing, not even a flicker of power.

Sorry for the long post, but thank you!

That will take care of it as long as you didn't already screw something up.
