dude, i have an opty an can get it to clock to 2.8 so far...i tried 3ghz, but no go. it was running at 35c...the hottest it gets! i have water cooling, and also an opty 146, its a cacje 0605...supposed to be able to hit 3ghz on stock clock. i hit 2.8 on stock vcore and prime 95 stable for over 25 minutes...i ended it there. i will let it run when i go to work. i think it will run the rest of the other 4 hours. anyone else have this exact core and what is your oc??? and yes, im no newb...i set the bus to be = or < 1000mhz...duh!!!!!!! and even tried to bump vcore form 1.4 to 1.45...highest it goes :(

It'll need more than that, I think. That's a pretty big limitation for a motherboard, to only have 1.45V. What board do you have?

For maybe $10 or $15 more you would have had 3GHz, but no matter. I'd suggest you do some Google research. I'd bet money there's a volt mod that'll let you do more than 1.45v on that. My ASRock 939Dual has the same issue, but there's a volt mod that lets it go over 1.5V. Granted, it has an HTT limitation as well, but I can get my 3000 high enough that it just doesn't bother me.

at 2.7 ghz,x850xt,2 gigs ocz plat,single 74 gig raptor,it flys man 65 fps 1800x1440 settings med-hi bf2 :p i am on it now its simply amazing...not found of voltage bumps let alone tweaks...chilled water box coming soon..3.2 ghz 0n new opty 165,mid summer upgrade pending new amd f2 boards . im having fun with these 2 babys both solid at 2.7 .. had my main rig other night playing at 2.9ghz(have screenies) :p temps to hi tho 1.55 volts
