    I dont think so, its the same thing for the Core 2 Duo e6300 and 6400, a 50$ dif gets you a small clock dif. I guess it also depends upon the $$$ you have to spend.

      you get another 2x on the multiplier, so if you dont go in for clocking up to insane fsb speeds, its better to go for the 4600+.
      however, if you have a good motherboard and are reasonably confident at clocking up, then i would just go for the 4200+

          its the only thing that determines the name of any AMD64 processor in any of the families (sempron, opteron, etc) as they all run at a stock bus speed of 200mhz.
          in the factory, they sort the processors into different speeds and then lock the multiplier accordingly. so the best ones are made into FX models, and the poorest are made into 3800+ (or whatever)

          i think im right on this, speak up if im wrong.
