  • Mainboard combo suggestions.

Been thinking about getting this mainboard and this CPU. Can anyone suggest a better alternative for close to the same price ($550 US)?

I haven't messed around with ECS boards, but the chipset is reportedly very good, and the E6600 processor is rock solid. I have one in a P965 based board and it handles everything that I can throw at it.

Thanks for your responses. I was following your advice when I picked that board.

It probably is, look at all the other 680i boards.

I think your combi is great, I was gonna get the E6600 but I was short and had to go for the E6300. Enjoy your 4MB L2!

Yes it is. Some of the other mainboards with this chipset are north of the US$400 mark.
