  • Hard disk partition problem

    hi every body
    i have windows Xp installed on my pc and i had partions with NTFS file system my friend tried to install windows 98 and my partitions are now invisible and and whenever i try to make partions using fdisk command it shows me less memory usually 10 mega bytes instead of 80 GB
    please tell me what should i do and how can i recover my prevoius patitions
    waiting for response

    Windows 98 doesn't read NTFS. Go back to using XP. As long as you didn't delete your NTFS partitions, they should still be there.

      yawgie - he's been using fdisk - its probably a ****ed disk by now (as in partitions are gone)

      don't forget that the size of HD when you buy it is in decimal and when your useing fdisk its some other base system - its about 10% difference

        Yay for me posting at 3:00 AM when I don't read properly.

        He probably deleted all the partitions or tried to use extended partitions or something.
