  • RDRAM compatible motherboards

Hi, all. Im new and lookin for some help

I found a computer in the trash (yes, the trash) and it works!!
And Im looking to upgrade it... Im starting with a new motherboard, (Im new to all this)

I searched for motherboards on newegg.com and could not find any compatible with RDRAM. They all basically supported DDR or SDRAM.

Does anyone know of any that support this RAM?
Or any websites I can search besides newegg.

Also I have P4 so it has to be compatible with that as well.

I have all the specs for my old motherboard if that helps at all.

    Thanks in advance!

If it was in the trash why did you take it away from where it belonged?

You won't find a brand new mainboard for it though you may find a 2nd hand one.

Those mainboards where socket 423 plus RDRAM proved to be over priced and they under performed (which is why they didn't last long before socket 478 and DDR swamped them).

Now the best thing to do would be to put it back in the trash.

um why not? lots of people throw out working computers. i have more use for it than a trash truck does.

its not up to date but perfect for a back up computer for simple tasks or storage. and free.

Enjoy your free PC, but forget about upgrading it, except maybe the hard drive and the optical drives. There is nothing out that you could buy for it and it would be a bad way to spend money anyways. Nothing wrong with a free PC, but there is no good reason to upgrade something that old.
