  • Silent VGA Card for SG33G5M

    Hi all,

Im using a Shuttle XPC SG33G5M and have a simple question:

Which Geforce 8600 GT VGA card is VERY silent, fits to the G5 case and doesnt heat the system too much up? Alternativ I would buy another VGA cooler, but which one is thin enough for the G5?

Thank you very much for your help!

    hey balu,
I would suggest you check out 8600 GT cards using fanless,
they are generally fairly quiet and thinner than fanned cards.

    Hope this helps.

      Hi,

thanks for your fast reply. My greatest concern with the fanless cards like the Gigabyte or Zotac is, that they heat up the system too much. Do you think the airflow in the G5 case is high enough?

      Thank you

        Hello,

This really depends on the fanless card manufacturers, on how hot their card gets
so probably need to do a little research there, but as the 8600GT gets up to around
75 degree Celsius at full load our G5 case can handle it.

It will work okay and likely be stable but the box will will heat up, so you might consider adding some extra cooling for the VGA or just get a VGA card with active fan cooling to be on the safe side.

Thank you guys, but this leads me to my first question: Which card ist silent, fits in the G5 and is not too hot? I know that you can't test them all, so I will try one for myself.

            Thx for your help anyway!

            Cheers
