Re: Albatron Blue Ray Decoder Card Examined

This article just didn't hit the mark because it reviewed the wrong thing. You have been given a card which for all intense purposes is meant to be used in HTPC to play HD content. That is its marketting and its technical implementation of a HDMI port is directly related to that purpose. The article missed the point
    1) You showed benchmarks from 3d games, yet this isn't the cards stated purpose. Simply put buyers of this card don't care about the 3d performance!
    2) You didn't so any media decoding performance tests whatsoever, and yet this is the whole point of the card.
    3) You choose a specification of machine which is probably too fast for the average HTPC.
    4) There were no media decoding quality benchmarks, again this is the cards stated home turf.

Surely it would have made sense to at least review the card for what it was intended and just mention that the 3d performance sucks rather than putting down 17 pages of a review which didn't review the card at what its meant to be good at?

Yep that review totally missed its mark.

These cards arn't for even casual gamers.

DVD, HD & Blu-ray playback performance is what people would really want to know about so how about re-doing the article again in the proper perspective.
