  • Which P35 board... Asus P5K-E or Gigabyte DS3P?

I'm planning my first computer build but I'm having trouble choosing a motherboard. I need a stable board with onboard firewire. I've narrowed it down to these two:

    - Asus P5K-E

    - Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P

I'll be running an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (Penryn), 2x2GB G.Skill DDR2 800, two WD sata HDD's, an Asus EN7300GT video card and a Corsair CMPSU-520HX psu.

This is for digital audio recording. No OC'ing or gaming here. I'm just looking for the most stable board possible. I can not have it crashing in the middle of a recording.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on which board to go with.
    Thanks very much.

I wish I would have went with Asus.

I have a Gigabyte p35-ds4. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. Not with the board itself but the with Bios. They are now at bios version 11!!!!!!

I think they need to contract a new bios company.

The board itself works great if you can get past post.

I went back to bios version 8 so far so good
