  • CPU Temps for P4-1.8A.. is 40 to 42 @ idle hot??

Check my sig, but I wonder if 40 to 42 degrees Celcius is a bit hot??

Could I have done something wrong, or is this normal. (used Arctic Silver)

    It's a P4, don't sweat it dude!
If it reboots or slows down, you have a problem. If it's running fine, go with it. The Intel PIII and 4's have thermal safeguards built in.

Anyway, your temp at 100% CPU load would be more interesting:D

Yeah idle temps don't matter a great deal (so long as its not extreme) but the full load temps are the ones that really count.
Oh and P4's do run warm. :smokin:

Arctic Silver takes a few hours and even a day or three to reach its full potential.
As long as you applied it evenly and carefully, you should be cool as a bug in a, uh, igloo.

Throttling doesn't seem to start on a P4 till ya hit around 70C so ya safe. :smokin:
