Good Afternoon. I have been having a great deal of difficulty in setting the RAM timings of my 8500CL5 Corsair Dominator 2x2BG kit manually to 1066Mhz, 5-5-5-15 2T Memory Voltage 2.1V.
When I go into BIOS [1305 - Striker II Formula - Q9450CPU] perform these manual settings, Save & Exit. Re-boot, Running CPU-Z in Vista [Ultimate 64Bit] states that the timings etc... have reverted back to 5-5-5-18 2T 1.8V 800MHz. I assume this is due to another problem else where causing the system to recognise the setup as being unstable and hence the change back to JEDEC #2 400MHz.
I must admit I'm totally new to overclocking - infact I do not relly intend to do anything other than change the RAM to run at 1066MHz [easier said than done !!]
Any Hint's and/or tips would be appreciated
Regards
Paul
