hi..
can you help me, im desperate..

my computer freezes every time, i cant setup my bios, it freezes after 10-50 sec

configuration:
intel core2duo e8500
kingmax ddr2 2gb 800mhz (2x) - put them in 1 & 3 slot
powercolor hd4850
chieftec 650w
bios F6

please help



edit: if kingmax is not good, which memory i should buy ???

What you should always do on day one is test each stick before you get going to be sure you did not get sent a faulty stick.

To do that please test each stick one at a time in slot one with Manually set ram voltage, performance enhance set to standard, memory multiplier = to default ram speed, manually set Main timings, everything else should be in Auto. Use this Memtest86+ it must be this version or newer for P43/45 boards (2.01) >>>>

Please remove one stick of ram from slot 3.

Then go into the BIOS and set these things so you can get 2 sticks working, then you can set the rest if you like (I can give you all settings if you want, these are just to get you going with 2 sticks)

Do this with one stick in slot one >>>

Set your ram voltage to spec (What you see on the sticker) normally this is 2.0-2.1, give me a link to your ram and I can check warrantied amounts for you.

Set performance enhance to STANDARD

Set trfc to at least 54 (52-62 optimal)

Set Static tRead on both channels to 9-10 for now

Set Mch voltage to 1.2-1.3 (maybe 1.24 first will do)

Then save and apply F10, and reboot then shut down. Put in your second stick and you should be good to go.

Then if you need full suggested settings let me know what CPU Speed you are running and I willa dvise

i put this values and its not working, it freezes again..

even one stick its not working..

Freezes? Then how did you give me those settings? One stick should not freeze on you. Can you test the ram in another system?

If you want to get new ram I would Suggest Mushkin brand if you can get it where you live. If not G.Skills are also good for Gigabyte boards.

Did you test the ram in another PC or can you?
