Re: GA-P35-DS3 BSODs

Do you have X-FI card? Just wondering....

Where you should start is reinstalling the latest DirectX 10 >>>>
Download details: DirectX Redist (November 2008)

And be sure you have installed all Vista updates as well.

4GB of ram does need some adjustments, and usually Auto does not cut it despite what values you see in the BIOS you should manually set things.

Try this >>>

MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
Robust Graphics Booster ...............: auto or fast
CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: x8
CPU Frequency ...........................: 2.666

Clock Chip Control
Standard Clock Control
CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Enabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 333Mhz
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........:100
S.M.A.R.T Enabled
C.I.A.2 .................................:[Disabled]

DRAM Performance Control
Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....:Disabled
(G)MCH Frequency Latch...............:Auto (Your BIOS has this??)
System Memory Multiplier ..............: 2.40B or 2.40
Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 800
DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time........................4
tRCD .........................................4
tRP'...........................................4
tRAS..........................................12

^^ is your ram 444-12 ram? ^^^

Just checking, can you give me link anyway to check warrantied voltages?

Advanced Timing Control
tRRD..........................................3-4
tWTR..........................................3-6
tWR............................................4-6
tRFC...........................................52-62
tRTP...........................................3-5
Static tRead Value_______________ 7-10
Static tRead Phase Adjust________ [Auto] << Always Auto

Driving Strength Profiles
Driving Strength ............................ Set to 800-1066, I find one above ram speed to be best

Motherboard Voltage Control
Voltage Type.………... Manual
DDR2 Overvoltage Control....................+0.3
PCI-E Overvoltage Control....................+0.1
FSB Overvoltage Control......................+0.1
(G)MCH Overvoltage Control..................+0.1 << 2x2GB usually needs +0.2-0.3V
CPU Voltage Control.............................1.3000

Advanced Settings
Limit CPUID Max. to 3.....................: [Disabled]
No-Execute Memory Protect............: [Disabled] << Enable

Re: GA-P35-DS3 BSODs

hey Lsdmeasap and thanks for your replay. After posting yesterday i did a full night with the above settings in memtest and to my surprise it returned errors. (what didn't happened last time). I'll give it another night after i'll configure my bios right. If that will give me errors i'll check each stick seperetly.

I pasted your msg to make things easier.

Do you have X-FI card? no (i've read in the forum that there's some kind of conflict)

reinstalling the latest DirectX 10 - Done

And be sure you have installed all Vista updates as well. Done

Re: GA-P35-DS3 BSODs

After a night of memtest with the above settings i got errors.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
I tried to run memtest to each stick separately in his original slot
and everything was working fine so the errors appear only when they
work together. Any idea?

Re: GA-P35-DS3 BSODs

Have you tried your ram at 5-5-5-15/18 and at 1.9-2.1volts, to see if you can reach stability at more relaxed timings?
Leave all the settings in Advanced memory timings to Auto, Except tRFC, set that to 56.

Try this, and just so you know what you see on the left is not always what you get in windows. It can be what Auto is using then, or has used in the past or any combination of both. >>>

Hello VorLonUK and thanks for your replay. My system is stable with 5-5-5-15, my problem is with 4-4-4-12.
Lsdmeasap, you sure i can: (G)MCH Overvoltage Control....+0.25
from what i see i can only +0.1 +0.2 +0.3

Ahh, yeah some boards only allow larger increases, try .3 then

Re: GA-P35-DS3 BSODs

with 0.3 i dont boot and my bios settings goes to auto. I managed to get my system stable with:

Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time........................4
tRCD .........................................4
tRP'...........................................4
tRAS..........................................12

Advanced Timing Control
tRRD..........................................3
tWTR..........................................4
tWR............................................6
tRFC...........................................56
tRTP...........................................3
Static tRead Value_______________ 8
Static tRead Phase Adjust________ [Auto]

Motherboard Voltage Control
Voltage Type.………... Manual
DDR2 Overvoltage Control....................+0.3
PCI-E Overvoltage Control....................+0.1
FSB Overvoltage Control......................+0.1
(G)MCH Overvoltage Control..................+0.1

and it passed 8 hours of memtest BUT i still get blue screens while gaming (same one mentioned in the first post). I never get bsods if i use 5-5-5-15.

Then you can try .2 MCH again or 544-12 for your ram
