  • EP35-DS4 + Q6600 overclock fails

    Hi,

I am trying to overclock my q6600 G0 at a mild overlock, about 333x9 and in windows I haven been stable with that (at least that is waht OCCT says), with 1.3675vcore.. the problem is that *sometimes* when I reboot or when I start the PC from cold It reverts to the stock settings (266*9)..

My PC is a Tagan 480 + Xigmatek (9cm) +4Gb Mushkin Redline 4-4-3-10 (800) + Galaxy 8800GT. Can anybody help me with bios setting? Now these are my setting and still reverting to stock.

your ram voltage little low .. +1 = 1.90 volt ... what is your ram speed now ??

        Re: EP35-DS4 + Q6600 overclock fails

        Thanks for replying,

I've tried even with +0.25 (with 0.3 I got a non-booting system). My ram is and always have been 800 (333*2.40)

And as I said, once is running the OS goes fine and stable, but when i reboot it randonly turns off and on an reverts to stock settings....

Thanks I will try this evening to see what happens....

One last question: should I upgrade to bios F6c? In gigabyte's site i see the lastest one is F6a but no idea of what changes are made...

            thanks a lot

              Re: EP35-DS4 + Q6600 overclock fails

K, let us know how you get along.

Beta BIOS is all up to you, but if you do flash DO NOT USE @BIOS!!! Here is a Qflash guide >>>

Be sure you load optimized after the flash, set your ram voltage and then save/apply/reboot BACK to the BIOS as you will HAVE TO set your SATA disk settings again (If you use RAID and forget this or let windows try to load accidentally you will corrupt your array)

                Re: EP35-DS4 + Q6600 overclock fails

I have the ga p35 ds3p and the same problem

my mem is set to 4,4,4,15 @2.1v has passed 8 hour memtest on and off the 333fsb

haven't made any voltage changes to the cpu or anything other than setting the ram to what ocz recommend

couldnt really see a reason for uping volts due to my rig passes memtest and 14 hours of prime95 without error

i can run my rig for a few days at 3ghz then one day i'll reboot and it will revert back to default clock speed and the manual setting of 4,4,4,15 for the ram changes from manual to auto and uses 5,5,5,15

                it's really annoying

i have the latest bios f11

as i am getting the same problem on a different bios i would say we are both doing the same thing wrong lol

                  Re: EP35-DS4 + Q6600 overclock fails

Hmm, it annoys you yet you refuse to accept advice on why it fails to keep your settings?

They are not as stable as you think obviously

Auto for all your settings is not going to be stable at all, especially if you are using 4GB+

If you would like some advice on settings please post your full specs and fill this out with what you are using and I will advise >>>

mate you didn't give advice to me it was to the OP as I don't have the same board or memory as him so I haven't made the changes you suggest to him

I will start my own thread up with all the details you have asked for here
