So are those settings stable? Meaning like hours of prime runs fine?

Interesting about the PCI express not booting at 100 as thats supposed to be the frequency it runs at.

I have had to bump the voltage up a couple notchs, it passed intel burn but failed prime95. I am letting it burn as we speak, I will post the current voltage im using this evening. I will try to enable 100 pci frequency this evening by its self, try to eliminate one thing at a time, see what stops it from booting. When it did boot, it said it recovered from an overclock, thats when I loaded optimized settings, then set the voltage, mem, fsb and northbridge.

Just remember for future happenings, if you have a different CPU reference or MCH reference that works, best, remember that CPU termination changes the reference values.

I think you need more MCH, like 1.32 or more for 500fsb, I need 1.32 at low FSB like just over 400, then 1.34 will get me a little more on top of that.

For the MCH, I dont know why I thought the safe voltages were between 1.24 and 1.28. If prime95 fails this afternoon, i'll bump up the MCH to 1.28 (or in your opinion should I just jump up to 1.32 or 1.34?), run prime95 again. Would you increase the cpu voltage or just start with MCH?

Yeah bump the MCH voltage up, and your also going to find that MCH reference is a very important setting. Most people are finding success with lower, like .64-.70(while VTT aka CPU term is set at 1.2v as it changes otherwise)

Re: Looking to fine tune E8500 with GA-EP45-UD3R

Am I pushing the FSB too high or would I be better running 425 at 9.5 multiplier. Some reason I got myself on this 500 FSB kick to run the memory 1:1 (2b multiplier atm, also, I thought I saw where 2b was not stable over 400 FSB, is that true? Should I change this also to 2d?)

Nope 2B seems to be the stablest around or above 500FSB from what I've seen. But not until you get near 500, from 400 to just over the 2D works well. Like when I was testing at low 400's 2B wouldn't even boot for me.

So I got home and it failed at 8hrs and 9mins. I have increased the mch to 1.34 and set the pci express freq to 100, booted with no problems. I'll set prime95 to run again shortly and see if I got this stable.

Prime95 failed after 39 minutes with mch set to 1.34 and pci express is now set to 100. Not sure where to bump it up to now.

Ran prime95 over night, about 3am the computer rebooted. There were some windows updates running in the background, dont know if those were the culprit, ran for 11 hours. Going to start it again this morning. Cpu voltage according to cpuz with no load is at 1.248.

Prime 95 ran for 2 1/2 hours this morning and then the computer became unresponsive. I'm not sure whats going on. I came home and the power was on but the computer was unresponsive, I had to hard reboot. I could use some help, anyone

Unable to boot up with both ram in the computer now. I tried one of the sticks, no problem, I swapped the ram, tried the other stick and the computer doesnt even boot. I cant event get the computer to overclock now, hard to get the board to run stock speeds. I had a better experience with a 45 dollar g31 foxconn motherboard. Starting to wonder why I bought this motherboard.

Try clear cmos for few minutes then try again boot into bios to load defaults then save to exit.

After it said in the bios, it overclocked, it set the default, I had the one ram stick in and it booted the default 3.16. I shut it down, put the other memory stick in and received beeps right off the bat, it wouldnt boot, seems like a memory issue. I am going to try to clear the bios and try the possible bad stick again. This is turning into a nightmare. I hate the thought of rma the ram and who knows whats going on with the motherboard.
