Hi -
I'm running an i7 920 at stock/default settings on a GA-EX58-UD3R and a Cooler Master V8 cooler and Tuniq TX-2 thermal gunk. Anyway, on bootup, the BIOS health check is showing 38C on the CPU. This seems kind of high for just sitting in the BIOS. The ambient temp is about 18-20C. Is this par for the course? Could I have put too much thermal grease on? (I just put a line across the middle of the heat spreader. It was probably about 1/8" thick and after putting the heatsick on, it separated once :-( (The V8 + motherboard is pretty hard to handle with just 2 hands!). Could that have caused a problem? Do I need to take everything apart, clean it up, and try again? I haven't installed anything yet, so I can't runeasytune/realtemp/coretemp or anything. The BIOS is all I've got for now...
Thanks!
