New build with GA-EP45-UD3P and XP SP2. No sound card, using Gigabyte on-board audio. Installed Reaktek driver from Gigabyte CD. Problem: "no audio device found" in Control Panel/Sounds.

In Device Manager, under "Sound, video, and game controllers" I see:

    Audio codecs
    Legacy audio drivers
    Legacy video capture drivers
    Media control drivers
    Video codecs

Under System Devices, the only sound-related item I see is System Speaker, and my case (Antec 300) doesn't have a speaker. I have two speakers connected to the green jack.

    What am I missing?

...I don't know what drivers they are talking about though.

I solved the problem. I had to download the Realtek audio driver from the Gigabyte Web site -- the one on the Gigabyte CD did not work.
