I have a 2wire wireless modem/router combo right now but would like to upgrade to a 10/100/1000 one. Can anyone steer me in the right direction what I should look for. I have a DSL connection from AT&T.

As far as I know you can not get one. You have to use a gigabit router after the "rodem" it will not make any difference other than having 2 devices on your desk. Residential internet service in North America pretty much tops out at 50Mbps, so a gigabit modem will not help you one bit as far as internet is concerned.
