  • can't raise my fsb.... HELP

    Hi there

I can't seem to get my fsb higher than approx. 350....

    Here is my rig:

Core 2 Duo E8500 6 MB (Intel Boxed)
    Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
    OCZ Reaper HPC Edition Dual Channel 4 GB ( 2 x 2 GB ) DIMM 240-pin DDR2 1066 MHz / PC2-8500 CL5 2.1 V
    PIXMANIA Radeon HD 4870 - 1 GB GDDR5 - PCI-Express 2.0
    Corsair HX520W

Cooling : Stock (it will be changede in the furture)

I have upgrade my bios to F8

i know i wont get to high with stock cooling, but i was hoping for a small oc..

    I have tried this:

    cpu ration: 8
    fsb: 400
    cpu volt: 1,3
    pci: 100
    ram volt: 2,2
    ram: standard
disablede all which makes the cpu to slow down on idle.

all other things are on auto.

The pc wont boot, all i get is the bibs and a reset off bios....

I have a fealing that i might be the ram which i need to set manual, and i will try this.

Do you guys have any suggestion to what i should try...

I was hoping to do 3.4 or even 3.6 with stock cooling....

    Thx

Re: can't raise my fsb.... HELP

I will do when i get home.

I think that it is because the ration to my ram is on auto.. so at 400 it will run way to fast... but i will try it out and see if it helps.....

I will fill out the bios sheet you made with my settings....

I also found another thread with bios settings for 3,6 ghz and 3,8ghz which i will try..

      Thx for your reply :)

Re: can't raise my fsb.... HELP

As suspectet it was the ram divider which did the trick.....

I am now going 3.6 whithout any raise in the volt for the cpu....

I used the setp which was postet by another user in this forum. He has a setup for 3.6 and 3.8 ghz...

Now i will make some test to see if it is stable at 3.6 and if so i will try the settings for 3.8

              Again thanks for the help....
