What are the best, or close to best settings to get that CPU (E0) to 3,7 - 4,0 Ghz?

    Oh, my mem-sticks: Mushkin XP2 8500 2x2GB (991599)

And running Vista Ultimate X64, Bios F9.

CPU is cooled by a Scythe Mugen Infinity 2.

Well all CPU's are different of course, have you gotten anywhere already? Just wondering if you had so you have a idea of starting CPU and CPU related voltages for a higher overclock.

Here, try this for starters for 3.6 and then you can go from there. This will have your ram underclocked of course, just so you can get a good starting point for now

Has anyone gotten a better overclock than 3.83 with a Q9550?

        Re: Overclock with a Q9550 on a EP45-DS4

Nope, i didn't get started allready with this CPU, i had an E8400 that did 4.0Ghz 24/7. But i needed a Quad now, and i just had it delivered yesterday.

I'm now running with the setting's you provided above and it's running Orhos stable for an hour now, at 3613Mhz. If it keeps stable after 12 hours i will move on and go towards 3.7 Ghz. I will keep you guys updated.

        But for now, thnx!

            Re: Overclock with a Q9550 on a EP45-DS4

Allright, the 3.6Ghz setup was fully stable for 20+ hours. I'm now running at 3,7Ghz with only a slight increase of voltage for CPU, the remaining settings i kept the same. So now we Orthos this setup en see what the result will be....

Btw, i used your setting Xevius, but my system won't even boot with those. So i'm going to figure out how to come to 3,8 and beyond. But first 3,7Ghz has to be stable.

              Re: Overclock with a Q9550 on a EP45-DS4

Little update and a little problem.

I'm running at 3,7Ghz stable. I can test all i want, it always passes. Even the Intel burn test. But the problem that i have is the following:

When i turn my pc off and turn it back on, minutes or hours later (no difference), then the Gigabyte screen shows up, en it keeps re-booting itself. When i kill the power to the PSU for about 10 seconds and flip it back on, the pc boots just fine! So whats the problem here?

When i fix this problem i will try to push my CPU to 3,8Ghz.....

Turn off "Full Screen Logo Show" to see the POST messages. Then you'll be able to see where exactly it crashes.
