  • front headset trouble

i have a antec 1200 case with two round ports side by side on front panel.

i thought these were headset plugins but they are silver in color and not pink and green, and seem to big for my headset.

here is how i hooked this up:
case has two connectors for this port (10-pin AC-97,and a intel 10-pin HDA connectoe.I hooked the HDA connector to the sound blaster X-FI card.

motherboard has connectors two but did not use them. (gigabyte EX58 UD5)

if i plug headset to sound card directly nothing happens either

i have set sound card to auto detect headset in the sound card settings

can anyone help tell me what these ports are for ,or why its not working for headset hookup
    thanks killer454

So do you get sound at all from that card with speakers plugged in?
