I keep getting this ntoskrnl.exe BSOD at random times. I've tried to reinstall windows, update all drivers, ran memtest on RAM for 24 hours. I'm also using the optimized settings on the BIOS. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening? I don't think its overheating since on full load its only 50c.

    Re: ntoskrnl.exe BSOD GA-EP45-UD3R

Using OPTIMIZED settings often over-volts some of the settings in the bios. It's best to manually set the following voltage settings:

CPU Vcore <========= manually set this to the value shown in the bios
CPU Termination <===== manually set this to the value shown in the bios
MCH Core <========== 1.20 should work for you
DRAM voltage <======= 2.0 - 2.1 volts should work, don't exceed your memory's max voltage spec

Change the following from AUTO to the value to the left in the bios:
    CPU PLL
    ICH I/O
    ICH Core

All of these settings are accessed from the MIT section in your bios. If you're still having problems, copy LSDMEasap's generic bios template and fill in all the values with your current bios settings, and post these settings.

There are quite a few threads that show their successful bios settings with your cpu and an EP45 mobo. Don't use bios settings from systems that have been overclocked.

Check the Bios Tweaking Gude for more info and post any further questions that you have.

          Re: ntoskrnl.exe BSOD GA-EP45-UD3R

Make the following changes in your bios:

PCI Express Frequency (MHz) ...........: 100
          Performance Enhance .....................: Standard
Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) .......: Disabled

You might need to set MCH Core to 1.22 or 1.24. If this doesn't help, try setting it to 1.05 volts.

Please include a link to your specific memory modules. It is best if you include a bios template with your latest settings.

What bios version are you using?
Is your mobo rev 1.0 or 1.1?
Which operating system are you running?

I'm using Vista Ultimate 32bit, Bios version is F5, and i'm not sure what my rev is.I can't get it stable when I use different settings, It gets stuck in a cycle reboot for about 5 times then when I return to BIOS it tells me that there was a bad overclock or settings.

              Re: ntoskrnl.exe BSOD GA-EP45-UD3R

To eliminate the memory as the problem, you can run the following tests:

              1) Test with the memory in slots #2 & #4.

              2) Set System Memory Multiplier to 2.40B, this will underclock you memory to 800 MHz.

              3) Test with only 1 memory module in the slot nearest the cpu.

              4) Test with a different set of memory modules.

Have you done any stability testing Memtest86+, Prime95, OCCT, or Orthos?
