  • RAID1 problem with GA-MA770 and Vista

I'm trying to set up a RAID1 on my GA-MA770-UD3 with two WD 640gb HDs. I've set up the RAID in bios, and the RAID utility recognizes it. I load my Vista ultimate (64bit) disk, and install the drivers from the GB website (v3.1.1540.64). Vista will then install, but when I restart the computer, the RAID utility says that one of the drives is failed.

Can anyone offer some help or idea?

Vista should not need any driver to install as it already has generic Drivers with it, but you can of course load your own. Since you say you had to load some, maybe you have some incorrect BIOS Settings? Are you sure you have them correctly set?

Have you ran WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics on both drives to be sure neither is DOA? If not, please do >>
WD Support > Downloads > SATA Hard Drives > WD Caviar Blue / SE / SE16 (SATA II)

And also, you did check for and remove any jumpers on the drives correct? If not, do so now.

And please be sure you have your disks plugged into the First two SATA Ports (0+1)
