  • Failure after return from long Hibernation

All set with UD3P with E8400 @ 3.6 (thank to Outer....)
stable Like a Rock and running 24/7...

When I Hibernate/Sleep in Vista 64 and press the Keyboard to resume
from Overnight, the pc start but do not respond and reboot
when I verified the clock speed with CPUZ it shows 2.999
Going back into the Bios There is a red warning message stating
a problem with overclocking or voltage all setting are there i just have to press F10 and I am back to 3.6....

Strange enough if I hibernate and return shortly no problem..

Is it a software related or hardware.....?

Note: I have run all test possible including intel burn for 20pass
    all pass

Re: Failure after return from long Hibernation

It is a BIOS issue they have still not fully worked out for UDx model P45 boards

What BIOS are you using anyway? Have you tried the latest Beta, it may be corrected for your board >>>

      Hi LSDmeasap,

      Thank you for your Help

I was Hopping I don't have to flash my Bios From (f7)to the (F9b)
frighten to brick my Mobo...Since I run rock solid 3.6
But it is Very addictive and I would like to get to 4.0... 24/7
So I take This opportunity to Make use of your Knowledge

Note: temperature at 3.6 Idle 30c to 33c
      and During high usage 40c
as for GPU 50c during high setting games...

I attach the Bios set up on the next post since I have to much text....

Re: Failure after return from long Hibernation

Are you sure those settings are stable? Have you tested with Prime95? Try upping the MCH voltage a bit.

I don't use Hibernation (aka standby to HDD), i use S3 state aka suspend to RAM. Most of the times it works fine even after days of "sleep", but sometimes it doesn't respond when i hit the power button to restore from suspend, and i have to hit reset. It's just the way it is.

But if it's doing it all the time for you, check your settings. As i told you, run Prime95 after a few hours to ensure your overclock is stable, and especially check the MCH voltage and RAM timings, as those are the most critical during that state.

            Thank you for the tips

so fare Orthos 5 hours ok
            20 pass intel burntest Pass
            OCCT 1 hour Pass
            I have try prime95 4 hours pass

I will run prime95 again for a few hours to check again....

so you recomend to increase the MCH voltage....
From 1.200 to 1220 will be ok?

Yes, it should be okay, you can go even higher if you need.

Re: Failure after return from long Hibernation

So did you flash your BIOS? Just wondering, you will be fine just do not use @BIOS. Here is a Qflash guide I wrote if you are unsure of how to use it >>>
                  http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/bios...h-guide-27576/

4Ghz, You have a good cooler right? If so, then I would suggest you try this.

This will underclock your ram, so if you want it at or close to 1000 you would need to use 500 FSB and 2.00B/D Ram multi instead, or 9.5x420 and use 2.40B or 2.66D Ram multi (Many ways to go about it, not sure how you want to proceed so I will advise with 900Mhz ram for now) >>>
