Hello, I am running W7RC1 on a 790gp ud4h gigabyte board with an athlon x2 5600, 4gigs of gskill ddr2 800, a wd 500 gig sata HD and an H233H acer 1080P moniter. When using HDMI @1920x1080 the video is not filling the moniter screen by about 1" to 1 1/2" I do not have this problem with DVI or D-SUB connection. Is this a MB problem or maybe a Windows 7 problem? Please help! Thanks.

        Gothcha'.

The following is a check list and I realize you've probably done it already:

        1. You've checked aspect ratio in your monitor's menu?

        2. And all aspect ratio possibilities in your video card driver?

        3. And your not using legacy drivers for your video card?

          Re: gigabyte gama790gp-ud4h HDMI

I think I have checked everything in the moniter and in CCC. I am running the latest ATI driver for W7. I have the res set to 1920x1080 using the HDMI and the screen that is 23" wide now measures 21" evenly spaced. As I said I can run DVI and I do not have any problem- only with the HDMI!

            Re: gigabyte gama790gp-ud4h HDMI

I'd call Acer. They have been around the longest of just about anybody. There may be a problem with your OS seeing the Monitor when it's plugged into HDMI as a TV.

Possible fixes include another driver (a newer one) that fixes it. Or maybe altering an ".inf" file before install of a fresh video driver so that the correct registry info is added. Another possible fix is editing you registry.

And I forgot to mention that reading all NewEgg reviews on a specific product is always my first course of researching problems.

            GL

            PS
Also, if you read how other ppl never ever had the same problem, be sure to do a "Clean uninstall/ install" of video drivers with a utility. (I've been using DriverSweeper for the past year or two- look at Guru3D dot com for it.) Because you never know if or how left over files and left over registry entries effect a problem.
