  • Is it ok for one core to lag behind the other in p95 iterations?

    Hello.

I've finally honed-in on stability with my BIOS config.
The system has run prime95 (blended) for 24hrs.+,
    with no errors.

    But I have a question,
I've noticed that late in the testing period,
    say after 12hr. or so,
one core has lagged significantly behind the other in passing iterations.
It seemed to vary a bit, depending upon the succession of tests.
If a few larger FFT's were run in succession, the core would lag more,
and then catch-up a bit if small FFT's were encountered.
    At it's worse, that I noticed, the lag was behind by an entire FFT;
at it's best it only laggeed by an iteration or two of the same FFT.

    Is this ok?
Does this behavior indicate anything about performance?
Should I tweak something further? or Just be glad I've run 24hrs.
    and call it a day?

My system does that if I use the PC whilst running Prime.

Personally I am glad to complete 24hrs (Getting sick of the sight of Prime!)...

Yes, that is fine. Both cores are always doing different things so that would be normal.

Tweaking your CPU and or MCH Ref may help tighten things up, but can also affect your stability so you may want to leave it. It is normal really anyway so you are fine
