Re: Overclocking a E5300 and EP43-DS3 ? basic help needed

I will put a answer to your questions by some of your ??'s so you know what they are.

I would advise you read this guide as it will explain alot of that to you. It was written for P45 though, but some of the general terms are the same and it will help you a lot I think.

As for 1:1, that is up to you if you want to use it. It is not as good as one may think and was really only important/better in the past on older boards. This is not so much the truth anymore at all so you do not have to run 1:1

BIOS Memory Multiplier option of 2.00 is 1:1 with the FSB, so you would need to adjust your FSB to 533 to use 1:1 and that may not be possible with your CPU.

Here is what I would advise you try for 3.3Ghz and your hardware, this is NOT 1:1

    MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
Robust Graphics Booster ...............: Auto or Fast
    CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 13X << Set to x10
Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................: ?? << this if for some .5 CPU multi's on certain 45nm CPU's
    CPU Frequency ...........................: 3.33 Ghz

    Clock Chip Control
    Standard Clock Control
    CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Enabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: ????? << FSB, set to 333
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........: ????? << Set to 100

    Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter]
    CPU Clock Drive...........................: 800mV
    PCI Express Clock Drive.................: 900mV
    CPU Clock Skew (ps)....................: 0ps
    MCH Clock Skew (ps)...................: 0ps

    DRAM Performance Control
    Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Dont have this option << this is memory specific, if your ram is not XMP or EPP Programmed you will not see this. Disabled anyway
(G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: ?????????? << Set to Auto
System Memory Multiplier ..............: ??????????? <<< Set to 3.20B (FSB x this = Ram speed)
    Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 1066 per above (333 FSB X 3.20B = 1066Mhz)
    DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

    Standard Timing Control
CAS Latency Time........................ 5 (??? should this match my memory timings as per the box?) << Yes, set to ram spec amount
    tRCD ......................................... 5
    tRP'........................................... 5
    tRAS.......................................... 18

    Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD........................................... 3 - Auto 3-4
    tWTR.......................................... 3 - Auto 3-6
    tWR............................................ 6 - Auto 4-6
tRFC........................................... 46 - Auto 52-62 (Set 52 or more for now)
    tRTP........................................... 3 - Auto 3-5
Command Rate (CMD) ....................:0 - Auto 1-2 (Set 2 for now)

    Trd2wr(Same/Diff Rank)..................:8 - Auto
    Dimm1 Clock Skew Control...............: Auto
    Dimm2 Clock Skew Control...............: Auto
    DDR Write Training.........................: Auto

    Channel B
    Same as Channel A

    CPU
CPU Vcore….……….........................: 1.25000V << More, all up to your CPU of course, maybe 1.28-1.38 or so for 3.3Ghz

CPU Termination…..... 1.200V*.......: Auto << Set 1.225-1.3 for 3.3Ghz. This is Vtt I believe in DFI BIOS
CPU PLL…………………....1.500V*.......: Auto Set 1.5, you may need a bit more at 333 FSB or above though.

    CPU Referen.…………....0.760V*.......: Auto

    DRAM Termination .…0.900V............: Auto
    Channel A Reference 0.900V............: Auto
    Channel B Reference 0.900V............: Auto
