  • Problems shutting down XP

My winxp takes a long time to shut down for some reason. Whenever I shut down, it gets through "Logging Off" and "Saving Setting" fairly quickly, and then takes about 30 seconds to shut down. This isn't a big problem, but it does get a little annoying. I've tried the registry fix where you drop the milliseconds from 20000 down to 4000 for 'wait to kill app', but it hasn't helped. Any additions suggestions?

    Thanks.

Very often you will find that if you boot and reboot a number of times during a session this delay will occur. I dual boot with ME and sometimes i find it neccessary to swap from OS to OS anumber of times and this happens to me too. Whereas if I remain on the one OS for the whole session XP closes instantly.
