    Re: GA-EP45-DS3R wont boot

    Did you load Optimized bios settings before you made any bios changes?
    Please post your bios settings using this bios template or the one below it.

    1) List your system components in your forum signature.
    --> User CP tab (upper left corner of web page)
    --> select Edit Signature
    --> enter your hardware components (brand, model, etc.)
    --> include your bios version
    --> preview
    --> Save when complete
    Be sure to include your bios version, motherboard version, power supply, cpu heatsink/fan setup and the model numbers of all components.

    2) Link to your ram's full specifications.

    3) Fill in the generic bios template with your bios settings.
    --> Fill in Auto where appropriate.
    --> Update "??" values with what is displayed in your bios.
    For EP4x motherboards, using either of these EP43/45 bios templates.

    4) Include a screenshot that displays:
    Memset using the SPD and ">>" tabs
    cpu-z CPU and Mainboard screens (several instances can be run at the same time)
    EasyTune6 --> TUNER tab --> ADVANCE tab --> VOLTAGE tab (only the Voltage tab is needed)

    Links for these programs are in the Latest Overclocking Programs, System Info, Benchmarking, & Stability Tools thread.

        Re: GA-EP45-DS3R wont boot

        Does the boot fail when trying to load windows from the disk?
        To disable the LOGO screen for more details press the DEL key when powering up, enter advanced bios settings and disable Full Screen LOGO.
        When you say reset, do you mean you press the reset button?

            Are you booting with any USB drives connected to your system?
            Posting your bios settings from the linked to template might show the problem.

                Re: GA-EP45-DS3R wont boot

                Every time i do a cold boot , it fails. All i do is press the reset button and windows loads in no time.
                This week i installed Windows 7 RC on a second hard drive (thinking it may be my primary hard drive being the problem), and the pc behaves the same way.

                Cold boot. I press the on button, the post screen shows correctly my drives, dvd, memory qty and then there is the long list of peripherals . After a good 3 to 5 minutes, i get at the bottom of the screen DMI pool data success.
                Then i get...disk boot failure, .
                So i press th ereset button on the pc and it loads quite fast and im back on the desktop. From there, the pc runs fine, never fails.

                    Where exactly is the delay? BeforeUpdating DMI poll data, between updating and success, or after?

                    EDIT: BTW does it always write success after updating DMI pool data after a cold boot?

                          That's actually OK, it should report success only if there was some change that required it. I was thinking maybe the CMOS battery is low.
                          Did boot fail those 3-4 times you have tried?

                              Just saw your settings, were the changes you made nesessary?
                              Yes at 1066 ram needs to be set to it's specs for DDR-1066, at stock settings with XMP auto you can leave it on auto, just check BIOS HWmonitor that it is not overvoltedt too much otherwise set it to a values a bit lower then it's specs.
