  • Has anyone tried a 256gb pata (ide) ssd in apple powerbook g4. Will it work?

hello. I am trying to get answers from runcore, but i have not received a reply. I have a brand new powerbook g4 from apple. It is an unused oldstock replacement that i received. I want to purchase a runcore 25gb pata (ide) ssd for it, but i have been unable to get any answers from runcore. I have tried calling them and sending messages on their website. Everytime i call, i am an unable to reach someone who speaks english and they have not answered my email messages. Someone please help! Has any one tried it? How well does it work? Is it going to be much faster than just putting a regular hard disk drive in it? Is it really going to consume less power? I just want to know how well it works. I will probably just end up selling it on ebay and ordering a new macbook pro with the 256gb ssd installed if i do not hear anything. If anyone has any information on this upgrade, it will be gratly apreeciated. Thanks

Well we have not tried it but it should work. Our SSD can be returned at no cost to you other than the shipping fees.

I suggest you give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
