GA-P55-UD3R + i5 build...BIOS input?

Hi all,

I thought I would put my new i5 and GA-P55-UD3R build on here, and get some feedback on BIOS settings.

Here are my components:

CPU: Intel Core i5-750
MB: Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R
RAM: G.Skil Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600
Video Card: Gigabyte GC-R485MC-1GI Radeon HD 4850
PS: Corsair CMPSU-520HX
HD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS10X Quiet
Case: Coolermaster Storm Scout

Build

I put the thing together to bare bones start-up (CPU+RAM+VC+keyboard+monitor), and it started up with no problems.

I went into BIOS, and it looked a little different from the last Gigabyte board I did last month. I loaded optimized defaults, and saved.

I ran memtest with a bootable USB pen drive, and both sticks of RAM passed.

Thoughts:

The Zalman CPU cooler is HUGE!!! And, it will move on you if you press against it. I found this out when I had to mess with a wire by it. However, it has kept the CPU temp at ~28C. Of course, that is with no HD or OS yet. It is quiet. Also, I had to turn the fan towards the I/O ports since it would have blocked what I though was RAM Slot 1.

That brings me to the Gigabyte board...it a pretty thing. It has worked great. One thing to note that where you think RAM slot 1 is...it's not. That is RAM slot 2.

The VC is...HUGE. I wanted a fanless card for the sound level, and in return you get a big card with pipes and grill. It's a big mean looking thing that takes up 2 spaces. I also had to put it next to the big honking CPU cooler. It runs warm. I'll know more about this in the future when everything is set up. I'm not a gamer so I think it will be fine.

The Storm Cout case is wicked looking. It fits the CPU cooler...which is saying something for a case that is not nearly as big as my Antec Sonata or the Smilodon I used for my husbands build last month. Also, the case has some really nice case management, and a snifty cut out on the back in case I have to mess with the CPU cooler mounts.

The power supply is way kewl. This is the first time I bought a power supply separate from the case. Modular rocks...and it's quiet.

BIOS screen shots, and a request for tweaks from the experts.
