  • E8500 EP45-DS3R quick o/c

    I been going through the guides and they're pretty indepth, I was hoping someone could just gimme a few brief settings for my rig, its default is 3.16 and I had it up around 3.6ghz stable, just wondeering what settings to tweak for stability, I knew my old cpu and mobo settings to a tea but this MCH and all the additional settings with this mobo are all new to me....

    Please give me a link to your ram or the Model #, then grab a template from my signature and give me your full settings and I can advise back.

    You just want to better your current settings right? Just checking

          ive got a SATA drive but i dont got that ahci thing installed tho i lost my motherboard disc and cant seem to install it with the drivers from the site for 64bit

            About AHCI, what OS are you using? If you are using Vista or Windows 7 you can enable AHCI with a simple registry edit, if you are using XP it can be a bit tougher. Either way I can also link you to the proper driver you need if you are ready to do a clean install instead.

            Here is settings for you for 3.16 Stock and 3.6 as well, of course you will need to find your own Vcore and Vtt amounts needed for 3.6 but since you have ran that already I assume you know a good starting point.

            You left out MANY Settings from your above template, why?

              The stuff I left out of the template is all on auto so whatever those are, I'll jot em down and put em in if ya want them.

              I'm running Windows 7 Retail Ultimate 7600 build 64bit, Ive tried using the drivers from the gigabyte support page for my mobo but theyre unsigned or some **** for 64bit :S tho you said a registry edit works, what is it? I know my way around regedit id just need the string location and what to edit it to (:

                No, no need to add them, I just wondered. I added them in the above settings for you anyway.

                Unsigned drivers? You should not be having those issues. Anyway, since you are using windows 7 all you need to do is make the following changes in the registry, then reboot and set the BIOS to AHCI then you will be good to go and can update your driver then to the intel one if you like

                Enable switching between all IDE/AHCI/RAID modes by changing "Start" Values in these keys to 0
